Where is Currie Community Centre

280 Lanark Road West, Currie, EH14 7GB.  We are opposite Currie Bowling club and next to Pentland View park.

 

Do I pay Community and Social or Business rates

Community and Social Rates are only offered to non profit charities, religous groups and organiastions. As well as people in the community who want to host a party or event for friends and family members only.

Is there parking

We do not have parking at the Centre, however all the streets surrounding the Centre are free and without restrictions to park.

There is a small gated space at the back of the Centre which can be used for loading and unloading, and also to park if you have mobility issues.  The space is not a carpark, and should not be used as one.

How do I find out about availability and booking

How much will it cost to hire a space

Prices vary and depend on who you are, if you are booking a one off hire or becoming a regular to the centre and if you are booking one or more rooms.  Our price list can be found on our venue hire page and booking site Currie Community Centre : Online Booking

Remember your hire period needs to include both set up and clean up

Is a deposit required

Yes, all hires are asked to give a £100 refundable deposit.  This is taken in the unlikely event of damage or clean required after your hire. Please refer to our hire terms and conditions avalible on our venure hire page and at Currie Community Centre : Online Booking

How is payment made

After our Bookings Coordinator has recieved your bookings form and confirmed your booking, she will email you an invoice.  Your invoice will need to be paid in full before your hire starts.

Payment can only be made via BACS

Do you have chairs and tables

The Centre has an abundance of chairs which can be used as long as they are returned to their storage location at the end of hire.  We also have 9 Gopax foldable 6 seater tables avalible for use, additional to the tables perminently up in the lounge area. There is no additional charge for using these.

Are we able to decorate

Yes.  However we ask that you not use drawing pins or tape on the walls or other surfaces.

Please use Blu-Tack or 3M Command hooks if you need to put up notices or decorations.

Do not fix decorations near light fittings or heaters.

What is the policy on cleaning and waste disposal

As we are a volunteer lead charity, you would be responsible for all cleaning and removing all rubbish.  Please ensure you allow enough time when booking to ensure the Centre is left as you find it.

Can I bring appliances into the Centre

Appliances that are either under 1 year old or have relivance up to date PAT test label can be  used in the Centre.  This includes extension leads and adaptors 

Does the Centre have WiFi?

Unfortunatley the Centre does not have WiFi.  

How do I unfold and fold the Gopax tables?
